Wanderlust is one of the 4 story event chains that can take place very early. It is extremely rare, having only a 1% chance of taking place in a game. The event chain is completely linear, each event leading only to the next until the event chain is over.

Certain details regarding the prototype Science Ship and the Head's private research have reached our ears, and while some aspects seem too fantastical to be true, it is clear that it is in the [empire name]'s interest to find and recover the Chair as soon as possible.

It is unlikely that the head meant for the drones to attack us, but fact remains that they covered the scientist's escape nicely.
