Diplomacy is similar to unmodded Diplomacy alliance.png Diplomacy with the more significant differences being Alliances (renamed Federations) and the inability to close borders.

The Alliances differ from Federations in the bonuses they provide and that they can be formed from the start of the game without taking any traditions, but are otherwise the same.
