The 'Milky Way' map is our main static map for Star Trek New Horizons. This map focuses mainly on providing a lore-rich player experience, with colonizable planets placed according to Star Trek lore.
There are currently two Milkyway Galaxy maps:
- Milkyway (standard) - contains over 1400 star systems
- Milkyway (mirror) - contains over 1400 star systems
The main features of the 'Milky Way' map are:
- More than 1400 star systems
- Over 50 AI empires (including the Borg) at the start of the game, each based on an empire from Star Trek.
- Play as any one of 41 Star Trek Empires.
- The map randomly re-positions most star systems every play through, while maintaining the integrity of the galactic spirals.
- Over 300 individually named star systems from the alpha, beta, gamma and delta quadrants.
- Dozens of star systems individually designed based on Star Trek lore.
- Over 20 correctly positioned pre-warp species from Star Trek. They are randomly generated during each play through, so you will see different ones each game.
