Star Trek New Horizons Milky Way Galaxy[编辑 | 编辑源代码]
The 'Milky Way' map is our main static map for Star Trek New Horizons. This map focuses mainly on providing a lore-rich player experience, with colonizable planets placed according to Star Trek lore.
There are currently three Milkyway Galaxy maps:
- Milky Way (standard) - Contains over 1400 star systems
- Milky Way (mirror) - Contains over 1400 star systems
- Milky Way (Medium) - Contains over 900 star systems
The main features of the 'Milky Way' map are:
- More than 1400 star systems with a 900 star system map for a less performance hitting map.
- Over 60 AI empires (including the Borg) at the start of the game, each based on an empire from Star Trek.
- Play as any one of 65 (67 with Synthetic Dawn) Star Trek Empires.
- The map randomly re-positions most star systems every play through, while maintaining the integrity of the galactic spirals.
- Over 300 individually named star systems from the alpha, beta, gamma and delta quadrants.
- Dozens of star systems individually designed based on Star Trek lore.
- Over 20 correctly positioned pre-warp species from Star Trek. They are randomly generated during each play through, so you will see different ones each game.
- The player has the ability to spawn fewer empires for improved performance.
Star Trek New Horizons Alpha/Beta Map[编辑 | 编辑源代码]
We have three different 'Alpha/Beta' quadrant static maps, each providing a different experience. As the name suggests, the alpha/beta maps are restricted to the alpha/beta quadrants of the galaxy. They are also smaller than our 'galaxy' maps and would suit people with less powerful computer systems. Like the main galaxy map, all our alpha/beta maps aim to provide a lore-rich Star Trek experience, with colonizable planets placed according to Star Trek lore.
There are three Alpha/Beta quadrant maps:
- Alpha/Beta Quadrant - contains over 850 star systems
- Alpha/Beta (500 Stars) - contains over 500 star systems
- Alpha/Beta Quadrant (mirror) - contains over 500 star systems
All the Alpha/Beta quadrant maps include the following features:
- Over 30 AI empires at the start of the game, each based on an empire from Star Trek, placed in their canon starting positions.
- Play as any one the empires from the alpha and beta quadrants. Note the game will allow you to pick an empire from the gamma or delta quadrant, but it is not recommended to play such empires. You will be warned at the start of the game, if you make this choice: proceed at your own risk.
- Every star system is individually named and is placed at the correct relative position with the correct star class.
- Dozens of star systems individually designed based on Star Trek lore.
- Over 20 correctly positioned pre-warp species from Star Trek. They are randomly generated during each play through, so you will see different ones each game.
Star Trek New Horizons Gamma Quadrant Map[编辑 | 编辑源代码]
Currently there is only one Gamma Quadrant Map, which provide an excellent Star Trek experience. Like the name suggests, the gamma map is restricted to the gamma quadrant of the galaxy. It's only one quarter of the main "milkyway" map, so it is more suitable for players that have less powerful computer systems. That doesn't mean that this map provides a less lore-rich Star Trek experience, such as colonizable planets placed according to Star Trek lore.
There is only one Gamma Quadrant map so far:
- Gamma Quadrant - contains over 500 star systems and 10 empires
Star Trek New Horizons Delta Map[编辑 | 编辑源代码]
Currently there is only one Delta Quadrant Map, which provide an excellent Star Trek experience. Like the name suggests, the delta map is restricted to the delta quadrant of the galaxy. It's only one quarter of the main "milkyway" map, so it is more suitable for players that have less powerful computer systems. That doesn't mean that this map provides a less lore-rich Star Trek experience, such as colonizable planets placed according to Star Trek lore.
There is only one Delta Quadrant map so far:
- Delta Quadrant - contains over 600 star systems and 18 empires
Star Trek New Horizons Random Galaxy Maps[编辑 | 编辑源代码]
We have 6 different "Random Galaxy" maps, each providing a different experience. The "Random Galaxy" maps don't appear in the Star Trek Lore, they are just a randomly generated galaxy map.
The six Random Galaxy maps:
- Spherical Galaxy - Contains over 500 star systems
- Ring Galaxy - Contains over 700 star systems
- Elliptical Galaxy - Contains over 900 star systems
- 2 Arm Spiral Galaxy - Contains over 1100 star systems
- 4 Arm Spiral Galaxy - Contains over 1900 star systems
- Huge Ring Galaxy - Contains over 2000 star systems and over 50 empires
The Random Galaxy maps share these features:
- Over 30 AI empires at the start of the game
- Each empire has only one planet to start with (except the Borg), randomly positioned in the galaxy
- These maps are more multiplayer-orientated, although the Huge Ring Galaxy and the 4-Arm-Spiral-Galaxy are more suitable for a big occasion
Star Trek New Horizons Scripted Galaxy Map[编辑 | 编辑源代码]
Currently there is only one Scripted Galaxy Map, which, by far, contains the best Star Trek experience, by sending the player directly into a specific scenario in the Star Trek Universe. This map is inspired by the "Birth of the Federation" game. It features Humans, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians and the Feregi as Major Empires and 30 Minor Empires.
Here are the sceneric Galaxy maps so far:
- BotF Galaxy - contains 468 star systems
